Water repellency study on Polyester Fabric
Polyester fabric was treated with LK-E 71 Fluid and air-dried at room temperature.
We visually observe the water-repellent performance of LK-E 71 Fluid, The water repellent action of the treated fabric are last for the 6 months.
The water-repellent performance was visually observed and measured by water drop contact angle analysis on treated and untreated fabric, further to simulate real-life use, the treated fabric was washed once using a mild surfactant solution, rinsed with water, and air-dried before re-evaluation.
Key Observations:
- Visual inspection confirmed strong beading and roll-off of water droplets on the treated surface.
- The initial contact angle of 150.2° indicates excellent hydrophobicity.
- Even after one cycle of surfactant washing and drying, the contact angle remained high at 148.9°, confirming the product’s strong durability under light-use conditions.
- This performance supports reliable water repellency for 5-6 months in typical dry-use applications.
