LK-E37 RESIN

Hydroxyl functional methyl phenyl silicone resin for industrial coatings.

Introduction:

The LK-E37 RESIN is a high-performance methyl phenyl silicone resin designed for superior heat and corrosion resistance. With a hydroxyl functionality of 60% in xylene, this resin is ideal for high-temperature applications as it contains higher phenyl. It offers exceptional durability, maintaining film integrity even after five quenching cycles at 650°C, each lasting one hour.
The resin is functionally air-dry at room temperature but achieves complete crosslinking with heat curing at 180°C for 30 minutes. When formulated with inorganic pigments like black oxide or aluminum oxide,

it delivers tack-free finishes at room temperature within 30 minutes and hardens further with heat cure. The addition of LK-SILYN AP 32 enhances crosslinking and acts as an adhesion promoter, boosting overall performance. This makes LK-E37 RESIN an essential ingredient for heat-resistant coatings, ensuring unmatched thermal stability and long-lasting adhesion under extreme conditions.
This innovative resin enables formulations to tolerate temperatures up to 600°C, making it a go-to choice for industrial, automotive, and aerospace applications.

Key features:

  • Advanced Thermal Stability- High heat resistant (600 0C with black and aluminium pigments).
  • Excellent weather and corrosion resistant.
  • Improved flexibility and good solvent resistant.
  • Both air dry and heat dry curing possible.
  • Excellent colour retention and gloss finish.
  • Good adhesion over the heat.

Applications:

Used as binders for industrial coatings -

Heat resistant coatings

  • Used as a binder in heat-resistant paint formulations (15–30%) for black and metallic coatings, providing resistance to heat up to 600°C and pass salts spray more than 140 Hrs with excellent UV resistance property.

Protective coatings

  • Used as a binder for colored pigments in pipeline coatings, as such resin or diluted in organic solvent for coatings that are transparent on wood substrate to make highly durable glossy weather resistant coatings.
