LK-EMR 52

Reactive Silicone Fluid Emulsion

LK-EMR 52 is a modified reactive silicone fluid emulsion designed to impart long-lasting water repellency to a wide range of porous inorganic and organic substrates. The product can be applied directly or used in combination with a suitable catalyst to accelerate curing and improve the development of hydrophobic properties. Its fine particle size enables deep penetration into absorbent materials, providing durable protection against moisture ingress while maintaining the natural appearance of the treated surface.

Key Functional Benefits:

  • Excellent and durable water repellency
  • Water-based, solvent-free, low VOC formulation
  • Deep penetration into porous substrates
  • Reduces water absorption
  • Preserves the natural appearance of treated surfaces
  • Forms a flexible hydrophobic silicone film
  • Effective at low dosage levels
  • Faster curing with suitable catalyst addition
  • Cost-effective water repellent solution

Technical Specifications:

Property Value
Appearance Milky White Emulsion
Specific Gravity ~0.98
Solid Content ~50%
pH ~5

Applications:

  • Cement boards and fibre cement sheets
  • Bricks, clay tiles and masonry
  • Natural stone and artificial stone
  • Water repellent additive for gypsum boards
  • Mineral-based building materials requiring water repellency

Application Guidelines:

  • LK-EMR 52 may be used directly or diluted with water depending on the desired active silicone concentration.
  • Maintain the formulation pH 4 to 6 until application to ensure optimum storage stability.
  • For gypsum board dosage of 1.0–2.5% (based on dry solids weight) is generally recommended.
  • When rapid curing is required, add a compatible catalyst at approximately 10% of the emulsion weight immediately before use.
  • For surface treatment of mineral substrates such as brick, concrete, stone, mortar, and cementitious surfaces, apply by spray, brush, roller until the surface is uniformly saturated.
  • Allow sufficient curing time before exposure to water for maximum hydrophobic performance.
