Alkoxy functional methyl phenyl silicone resin for heat resistant coatings.
Innovative silicone resin for heat resistant coatings
The LK-Q1000PHMX is a methyl phenyl silicone resin with alkoxy functionality 60% in xylene. Typical heat-resistant paint formulations contain a variety of organic resins as a binder and can only withstand heat up to 150–200 °C. Such paint formulations must include silicone resins LK-Q1000PHMX as an essential ingredient in order to boost their capability for heat resistance up to 600 °C.
In heat-resistant formulations, inorganic pigments such as black oxide or aluminum oxide can cure at room temperature tack-free in 30 minutes and harden in 24 hours. Heat up to 150°C for one hour in order to cure immediately. The film adhesion on the panels remains intact even after four cycles of quenching at 600°C, each lasting one hour at that temperature.
Key Features:
High heat resistant (600 ℃ with black and aluminium pigments).
Excellent weather and corrosion resistant.
Improved flexibility and good solvent resistant.
Both air dry and heat dry curing possible.
Excellent colour retention and gloss finish.
Good adhesion over the heat.
Physical Parameters:
Applications:
Used as binders for industrial coatings –
Heat resistant coatings:
Used as binder 20-40% in heat resistant paint formulations mainly metallic coatings to resist heat up to 600°C.
Protective coatings:
Used as a binder for coloured pigments in pipeline coatings, as such resin or diluted in organic solvent for coatings that are transparent on wood substrate to make highly durable glossy weather resistant coatings.
