LK-RX 22D

Polymethylhydrogensiloxane

LK-RX 22D is a reactive methyl hydrogen silicone fluid designed to deliver superior water repellency, release, free-flowing powder and serve as an intermediate in various formulations. It can be applied on its own or used with catalysts to accelerate the curing process. This versatile fluid is well-suited for a wide variety of substrates, including gypsum boards/ plaster boards and cement panels. It also performs remarkably well as treatment for powdered minerals to reduce moisture-related clumping and enhance powder flowability.

Key features

  • Colorless, clear fluid
  • Low toxicity under normal handling conditions
  • Forms durable, long‑lasting films after curing
  • Curing speed can be adjusted with temperature or catalysts
  • Highly effective even at low dosages
  • Easily diluted in common organic solvents for improved dispersion
  • Provides excellent water repellency

Applications:

  • Hydrophobic treatment of plasterboard, gypsum boards, and plaster blocks
LK-RX 22D can be incorporated as water repellent admixture into gypsum-based materials to impart strong water-repellent properties. This makes it particularly valuable in moisture-prone environments where plaster and gypsum products are at risk of swelling, cracking, or weakening over time.
  • Surface Treatment for Powders to Improve Water Repellency, Free-Flow Properties, and Reduce Caking
LK-RX 22D forms a protective coating on powders and granules, improving their water repellency and preventing moisture absorption. This treatment keeps materials free-flowing, reduces caking, and maintains product stability during storage and handling, even under high-humidity conditions.
